Unapologetic is a documentation of a performance art piece of the same name. I took inspiration from the opening scene of the Spike Lee film Do the Right Thing as well as the music video for the song Formation by Beyonce. The piece is about the portrayal of women of color in media throughout time, the influence of current events in music and film, and the evolution of hip-hop.
