For this project, I was inspired by slasher horror movie genre. I noticed that almost every trailer had the same formula, especially if it surrounds a group of teens/college students going on a trip. The trailer starts with the group on getting excited to go on the open road with happy music playing in the background, then trouble ensues when the scary music starts and it is revealed that their lives are on the line.

My video remix “This Summer” is a parody of slasher movie tropes and tropes of the entire horror genre. I decided to make a trailer inspired by one of the most popular slasher narratives and threw in other common elements such as evil children, cursed objects, and horror films that have titles that are more comical than intimidating.I chose to use various clips from horror films surrounding a group of friends and edited them together to create a narrative, despite of the characters looking different similar to the film Final: Cut Ladies  & Gentleman(2012) by Gyorgry Palfi The also added vintage clips from non-horror films to trick the viewer to a certain extent, and to experiment with editing footage to make the footage appear scarier.
